Sure. Come back in 200 days when you have nothing left from that investment.

I am so frustrated. I have been unemployed for over 4 months now, ever since I moved to the Providence RI area (ranked #1 worst job market in the country). I moved here with my husband’s military career and though I have a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years experience in graphic design, I have not been able to get a job. I am online every day on the various job sites hunting for and applying for things. I have reworked my resume, cover letter and references. I have "snail" mailed applications, and applying to things outside of my field.
I am frustrated because I have run out of money and can’t pay my bills, the jobs that are available here ar part time clerical or medical or retail types. Part time would be some money, yes, but I still won’t be able to cover all my bills with it. I cannot type- I have tried learning and I still can only type 16 WPM max.

I am frustrated that people think just because I am a military wife, I should be happy to take any old job and like it, too. I have worked retail before and developed severe back pain as a result fo my heavy breasts. Military insurance will NOT pay for a breast reduction so am I just supposed to suffer with the pain and go work at Sears? Then when a permanent injury occurs (as it did with my dad) THEN what am I going to do?

People tell me to just start a business doing freelance design, and I have tried, posting and posting and posting on craigslist, joining networking sites, building a site for my businesses but nothing is bringing in any money. I had another website to sell toiletries and such but in this economy I guess people aren’t buying "luxury items" like that, so I have had to stop doing it as I can’t afford to process the cc payments or advertise anymore. I’d like to go back to school but, again, no money, and I have missed the financial aid deadline for this year. Even if they’d pay my way through school i still would have no way to pay my bills.

I have tried temp agencies, they all say they will call me when something comes in and I never hear anything else. I have tried telecommuting and work from home things and it’s usually some job where they want you to do MLM, door to door or try to sell some crap to people they do not want, or they promise you this huge "salary" or say "unlimited salary" when you pay like $35 to join and just talk to everyone you see about the program (the only ones getting rich are the originators).

I need some real help. I know we can’t always get what we want but am I totally wrong for not wanting to take a menial job after I have spent years and thousands of dollars learning and then honing my craft? I actually wanted to cry when I went into a local retail store the other day for an application. I just feel trapped.
Please no links to check out "opportunities" thanks!
I took a typing test at a employment agency. For data entry, I scored 16 WPM alphabetical, 12 WPM numerical. I just have trouble taking what I see and copying it by typing. I can type very rapidly from omy own thoughts.

"Military insurance will NOT pay for a breast reduction"

Odd, I know a few who have had military insurance and had covered for a reduction from them.

As for employment, have you tried like Burger King or Target or similar position?

IMO if you are not employed you should take whatever position is open and that wants to hire you. You are making $0.00 now. If you were employed you’d be making more than $0.00. Its great that you have a good background education wise, but you canNOT be picky if you are unemployed!

If I ever became unemployed, I’d do my damndest to get ANY position I could, to assist with the bills and other things that need income, until I get the position I want.

Also telling the interviewee that they if you do job XXX that is fine, but they would like for you to do the MLM as well? Basically using a job as leverage to sign up with the MLM.

I don’t know about illegal but it is certainly unethical and if this person is working for a larger company (i.e. they are not one of the owners of the company that is interviewing you) then they could probably be fired for doing that. It is one of the worst misuses of interviewing that I have ever heard. If you don’t get the job, try to figure out who is higher in the company than this bozo and report him.

Any mlm’ers out there that can give me some tips. I am so scared about sharing Avon with others. I don’t want to look like a fool. I love Avon, I love the products. But I am so AFRAID of rejection. How does one over come this?

Answering objections and dealing with REjection is one of those skills that is difficult to teach. Because one of the few methods of becoming successful at it is what is called in the biz "internalization"

This is where you commit to memory, (and deep down in your subconscious mind) every single answer/response in almost all situations. Not the easiest of tasks, but the brain has this wonderful facility for absorbing this stuff…through REPITITION. That’s what internalizing is all about - the more the solution/response is repeated (seminar, listening to a CD/MP3 over and over, and practice-practice-practice), the more comfortable you will be in front of your prospects.

It’s also about PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. People aren’t buying Avon. They are buying YOU. Who you are. How you project yourself. What YOUR body language says about how comfortable you are with yourself, and the product you are promoting. So, develop yourself - everything else will fall into place.

I want to be able to convince those that think MLM’s are not pyramid schemes. They have a bad reputation because of them. So what do you know about them?

I know that they are the same thing. You could call them frings and frangs and they’d still be pyramid schemes. As soon as you need more and more people to keep it going, it’s a pyramid scheme. And that’s why you have trouble convincing people with half a brain that they’re not. And that’s why they have bad reputations.

I have a friend and he keeps bothering me about signing under him because he claims we can make a lot of money. The company is prepaid legal by the way. I am not a big fan of MLM!!

Sure, and after you both finish nagging everyone you know to join and most of the simply give up after a week, then what?

You can be successful in MLM, but the marketing methods they teach you (bugging your friends and family to join or buy stuff) will never work.

You have to learn how to market your business and products online first.

Ok…I have recievied 5 responses, ALL of them have told me that it would be a waste of time!!! ONLY TO GIVE ME A WEB SITE THAT THEY HAVE WHERE I CAN BY LEADS FORM THEM!!!!!!
So, I guess selling leads is better!!!
Thanks for all your "HELP"

Purchased leads are a waste of money. I didn’t start having any success in my home business until I learned how to generate my own leads online.

There are a lot of free training resources that show you how like the one at http://www.mlmfinesse.com

I currently work for the government of a capital city. I have been a lead procurement analyst (2yrs) and a sr. financial analyst (1yr). I am now an executive director seeking transition back into the private sector. Previous private sector experience is in marketing analysis / program management (18 mos). I have a BA in Economics, MS in MIS, and MBA. Job boards aren’t working, school career centers aren’t helping much, and my personal network is exhausted. Why you Should Work at Home!

Young children & elderly parents. Being having young children or elderly parents at home is another reason for working at home because some people are looking to combine parenthood with their career. In fact, studies regularly show that many parents would rather stay at home with their children if they could. A home office presents a perfect opportunity for them to have more freedom. In addition, the cost of a ‘nanny’ or a home daycare may be too high on a low wage, or parents may not wish to leave their young children regularly with someone else whose primary reason is to spend more time with their children. When child care is in the house, parents can have lunch with their kids or take breaks to play with them for few minutes. Full time child care and elderly home care can be expensive. If you are just starting up your business or need your full work at home income to make ends meet, then full time child care is probably not an option for you.

Retirement or redundancy. Some people may have taken ‘early’ retirement before the state of pension age and feel the need for some extra cash. As an older worker, however, you will feel that the chance of starting in a new salaried position in a new environment is remote, to say at least. You don’t want to dig up your roots and move elsewhere, don’t you? At this stage, part time work at home or owning a home based business would be the right choice. Additional income while working in the comforts of your home - priceless.

Lower cost. With fuel prices heading towards new heights all the time, everything is going to be more expensive, especially transportation cost. It does not matter if you drive, take the bus or take the subway to work, the bottom line is, it is going to get more expensive. Well, one solution is to spend more time and energy and start walking to work! Another more sensible and practical solution is to work from home. Can you imagine the amount of money you will spend on clothing’s for work at the office? I did my calculations and it was shocking! Working from home will save all that.

Commuting. Another often very compelling reason for working at home is that you’re finding the life of a commuter too much to bear. The public transport never arrives on time and you have to choose between leaving home at some ungodly hour before sunrise to arrive hours before anybody else gets into their workplace. Or, you spend hours driving around eating up fuel looking for a parking lot? Sitting in a traffic that can hardly move? What about squeezing with everyone else on that packed bus or train for hours? Surely, there’s something you can do which will improve your life style. You’ve had enough. You’ll work from home.

An unmanageable boss. Do you ever work under a boss who thinks he is always right and your ideas are always left in the air? His or her management skills are no longer used by other peak performing companies. Simply put, his or her methods are out of date. Communications between him or her and the staff have degraded and the true potential of the staff cannot be fulfilled. Same routine for work everyday looks like dressing uniforms for you. You know there’s no chance for you to climb above your boss’s head, moreover, there’s still 30 years to go until retirement. Thinking of suffering 30 more years? No way! If you are trapped with such a boss, fight back! How? Look for new opportunities to start out on your own. Such reasons for beginning a business often produce very good results. When you run your own business, you are the master. You take all the decisions and get all the rewards. Start working for yourself, not for someone else!

Stress is another factor. A looming deadline, work overload, a demanding client, a vague manager or a constantly ringing phone… The most stressful jobs are, no surprisingly, the ones in which you are under a lot of pressure and have very little control over your schedule. You might need to cut down meetings or get an assistant. A period of excessive work can lead to emotional and physical burn-out. Some people often feel that they must work for long period of times. For example in UK, most people work over 46 hours per week, that’s much more compare to any other EU countries. This is always linked to a perception that it is necessary to be seen as working long hour in order to justify a decent salary. Unlike working at home, you set your own hours and work when you want if you have a good time management.

Tax deduction. Working at home and owning a home based business reaps many wonderful tax deductions that other businesses may not claim. If you live in the United States, did you know that even if your home business doesn’t make a penny, it can put $5000 or more in your pocket every year in legal tax write-offs? It’s true! Many expenses related to your business can be added to your tax deduction such as your advertising cost, either newspaper ads or magazines ads you run, internet access and long distance calls or other business expenses, keep your receipts for each bill paid. These are items that may be written off. Just be sure to consults your accountant or tax advisor to see if you are qualified for the deductions.

The home based business industry has become a $427 billion industry. The biggest reason behind this is that more and more people are searching for other ways of building their future for their families because they are burned out and stressed out from their job. People are wanting to be more independent and if they find the right home based business, then they can find all of that and so much more. The average home business in the United States earns about $50,000 a year.

People are looking for ways to spend more time with their families, especially if they have children. They do not want to have to deal with the stress of working for someone else or have to deal with the burn out after working for 40 years for that company. A good home based business can give them all that they are looking for.
