Apparently it has been around for 30 years. My recommendation to you would be to tell your friend that you'd love to help him out, but that you have neither the time, money or interest in selling products. Be sure to wish him the best of luck with his new endeavor. If you are truly his friend, you can have no animosity over him trying to better himself. Is it an illegal Pyramid scheme...I don't know. I did some research, and they do not appear to be a member of the Direct Selling Association www.dsa.org that would offer some protection with the DSA Code of Ethics.
